New York Chrysler Building
Going on vacation to New York City? Excited about seeing the magnificent Manhattan skyline with its many skyscrapers and breathtaking buildings? Then you must certainly take a Chrysler building tour!
The Chrysler building is located on the 405 Lexington Avenue, in Turtle Bay East Manhattan. It was designed by the architect William Van Alen in an Art Deco style, the last skyscraper to be built in this architectural style. Its construction was completed in 1930. It is 925 feet high, and for a month it was considered to be the tallest building in the world until the Empire State Building took the title. In 1976 this building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in New York. The Chrysler Corporation used this building as their headquarters, and later on Walter P. Chrysler bought the building. It is without doubt one of the best New York attractions to see!

For example there is the Chanin Building, which also was designed in the same beautiful architectural style, located 100 meters away from the Chrysler building on 42nd Street. Or maybe take a tour in the famous Grand Central Terminal and have a closer look at the Central Clock, which was featured in many classical movies; or enjoy the drawings on the ceiling of the building. If you are there, you cannot miss the huge building blocking the view, the Metlife building or as New Yorker’s call it the PanAm Building. Locals would really like to see this building demolished!
