Las Vegas The Mirage Area

Visiting Vegas for the first time? Then you will no doubt spend some time on the famous strip – the almost 7 kilometers long Las Vegas boulevard where you’ll find the majority of tourist resorts and family attractions. We know that the strip can be quite intimidating but once you get to know the area, the many resorts, casino’s and hotels – such as the Bellagio, Mirage, Wynn and Mandalay Bay, will become more familiar to you and you will know exactly how to plan your day.

Looking for things to do in Las Vegas particularly in and around the Mirage? Spending a fun day in the Mirage area is not hard at all! The most famous attraction in the resort – or actually, in front of it – is the man-made volcano that often stops the traffic on the Strip whenever it erupts. This free show takes places every evening: twice on Sunday till Thursday (8 and 9 pm), and three times on Friday and Saturday (8, 9 and 10 pm).

Make sure you have time to visit the Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat inside the Mirage resort as well – this attraction is free if you hold the Las Vegas Power Pass and you can visit daily between 10 am and 6 pm. This great city-sightseeing card gives you free access to many more attractions and tours in and around the city – even a Hoover Dam trip and Lake Mead cruise are included!

Explore the Mirage area in Las Vegas

Many assume that Sin City is all about its casinos but there are other options for entertainment – for instance The Mirage is home for the Cirque du Soleil show “Beatles LOVE” which is a real spectacle that you wouldn’t want to miss! Tickets are not cheap and sell out quick, that’s why reserving tickets in advance online is a good idea if you want to save some money and be guaranteed that you have seats for this fantastic show during your stay in Vegas.

You’ve seen the shows and attractions at the Mirage? Then it’s time to leave the resort now and to explore the Mirage area as there’s plenty more to do in this part of the city!

Most hot spots on the strip are only across the road or a short walk away, such as Treasure Island – 0.3 miles. There are plenty of things to see and do in this tropical themed resort. Treasure Island was the first place hosting a Cirque du Soleil show in Vegas and the same show is still being performed here:  “Mystere”.

Opposite Treasure Island is the Venetian where you can take a romantic gondola ride, just like in Venice. After you’ve floated beneath bridges and under balconies, feeling like you’re in Italy, you can visit the Madame Tussaud’s museum at the Venetian which is free if you own the Las Vegas Power Pass. This wax museum is a great family attraction!
