London for Kids
Looking for things to do in London for kids? Here are some tips on how to explore London attractions with the whole family.
Our most important tip when you’re traveling to London with kids, is to plan the paid attractions you wish to visit in advance. A great purchase that will enable you to save a lot of money and make your London vacation a lot easier, is the London Pass. Check our offers next to the video screen and pick the London Pass. Save time and money by pre booking this pass which offers free entrance to family attractions like HMS Belfast, London Zoo, Arsenal and Chelsea museums and stadiums and much more. Our next tip is to combine free attractions and paid attractions in the same day so you can control your budget. Here are 3 optional day programs for you and your kids to explore while in London!
Travel in London with Kids
Day 1: On this day you will spend most of your time in the north central part of London. Your London attractions of the day include Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum – which is a must-visit museum if you travel with kids – followed by beautiful Regent’s Park and some other free London attractions. Regent’s Park is extremely beautiful in the spring and summer, and don’t forget to visit Rose Gardens for some photo opportunities. Another great option is the London Zoo – a children’s favorite – , which is free with the London Pass. You could finish the day with a relaxing Canal Cruise, also free with the pass and fun for the whole family.
Day 2: Travel to Waterloo station and take a ride on the London Eye. You can combine the ride with a Thames cruise – for free when you have the London Pass – , or spend the rest of the day wandering on the South Bank. There are some great free attractions here including the Tate Modern museum. You can also include a free visit to the Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre with the pass.
Day 3: Start your day in the Tower of London which is free with the London Pass. After that, you can choose to visit the famous Tower Bridge or skip to the other side and visit the scary London Dungeon or the floating museum of the Belfast battleship. Continue to walk on the South Bank and bump into Borough market, that has plenty to offer to both parents and kids.
Looking for some educational fun for the family? What about paying a visit to the Science, Natural History or Design museums? All located in Kensington, London, with special exhibitions and activities for kids. And again no admission fees, only donations.
Finally let’s talk about West End shows. Some of them are very attractive to kids, so stay on your pre-booking mode and get yourself tickets to the relevant show in advance and be sure that you have decent seats. Many of the half price stands in London will sell you the worst seats on the house, so you may have saved a few pounds but you lost all the fun, and what is the point in that?
