Amsterdam Nemo Science Center

Going on vacation to Amsterdam with the kids and thinking of what attractions could be great for them, and enjoyable for you as well? Head to the Nemo Science Center, a fascinating museum for every age!

There are hundreds of Amsterdam tourism spots worth exploring, however not all of them are suitable for children. Our tip: an ideal family attraction is the Nemo Science Center. With five floors packed with experiments and attractions, Nemo science and technology center offers something for every member of the family and kids will just love the interactive exhibits here where they are allowed to touch and try everything. When visiting the museum, don’t miss out on playing with the giant soap bubbles and make sure you check a couple of experiments in the wonder laboratory. Or you could ride a space bike through the universe!

During the summer, the building’s roof terrace turns into a little beach – another feature that the kids will love. While the kids play, you can enjoy the great views of the city from the roof. Want more information about Amsterdam with kids? We have plenty of tips on other family activities in the city in our free video guides.

Wondering how to get to the Nemo Science Center? Here’s a few suggestions. Because the Netherlands are so flat, it’s very easy to get around on foot or by bicycle; there is no shortage of tourist bicycle rental places in Amsterdam. Another good option for travelling in Amsterdam is taking the tram, that you have free use of when you hold the Amsterdam pass. Not the quickest, but a fun option is to go to the museum by boat… check if the specific Amsterdam pass that you’ve chosen offers a free cruise that passes the Nemo museum.
