New York the High Line Park

If you are thinking of fun things to do in New York then High Lane Park should be one of them! The High Line park is an elevated park, constructed on what used to be a part of a railroad. This section of the park was elevated in 1930, 30 feet above the ground and it is a 1.45 miles long, stretching from Gansevoort Street to 34th Street. Construction on the park began 2006 and the “park in the sky” was designed by Diller Scofidio and Renfro, while James Corner designed the landscape and did a great job decorating the park with flower beds and amazing benches overlooking 10th Avenue. Visiting this unique park allows you to relax after a busy day exploring the city and gives you a rare view on the city as if you were floating above the busy streets. Some of you might recognize the High Line Park from many movies, like the 2007 movie “I Am Legend”, starring Will Smith. It is undoubtedly one of the most unique NY attractions to see on your vacation.

Fun things to do in the High Line Park in New York

The park’s superb location means that you could combine it with some retail therapy in one of the country’s biggest store, Macy’s. Located on the Sixth Avenue, this huge store features 10 stories of stores which makes it the world’s largest store. For those of you who enjoy sports more than shopping, we recommend you to catch a show or book for a sport event on Madison Square Garden, one of the busiest squares in Manhattan, full with billboards and tourists. This square hosts events almost every day around the year. Interested in more nearby attractions to explore?
